Outside this Window
The cottonwoods leaves brush shoulders with one another, whispering all together to create a quiet roar that ebbs and flows and ebbs and flows with this midwestern wind. As night turns to morning birds provide warning of the hours past. Glimmers of light, still and golden creep over the horizon, finding their way to this window of mine. And then, and only then - do I find peace for this mind.
